Popping sound

The Gate (from the backyard)We decided that the fawn was trying to jump the gate back into civilization, when it must have caught one of its front legs in between the slats. This shows the hair that it left. This pic shows the scratches made while it was kicking. (Maybe it was one of Santa's Reindeer checking up on us!?!) Last night around midnite Moyd heard a weird noise, we thought maybe ANOTHER firework store was up in flames again. He looked out the window and couldn't see sign of one, then he thought 'maybe someone is trying to break in'. He got dressed and went out on the back deck, looked around, came back in and said "there is a fawn in the backyard, looks like his head is stuck in the fence," so I had to DRAG my butt out of bed to go help him. Well it turns out it wasn't stuck but it was either kicking the house or the fence trying to get out. After a few attempts of trying to scare him, he finally did jump over the back fence and was on his way to the great wide open fields. He had kicked the gate so hard that he loosened the post that it is hooked to, so now we need to replace the post. Geez Mr. Deer, there is more vegetation to eat in the front as in the back!

Intarsia

Moyd had been working on some wood projects, this is a racoon that he just completed.

Intarsia is the fine art of cutting numerous pieces of different kinds of wood on a scrollsaw, and fitting them together to make a picture. Intarsia is sometimes referred to as wood art. You use the colour, texture and grain of the various types of wood to add excitement to your work. Sort of like a wood puzzle. In its most sophisticated form each piece of wood is carved to an appropriate shape and thickness, based on what it is suppose to represent. The finished piece can be stand alone artwork, ... added around a picture frame or mirror, or shrunk in size and applied as a decorative component to wooden clocks and boxes.

Snow and 26*

This is what we woke up too this morning. . .SNOW AND 26*. Wind chill is 18* with wind gusts @ 46 mph from the E. I'm not ready for this (hopefully this will melt soon). But then you know Wyoming. . .It only snows once and the wind blows it from one end of wildoming to the other ;)

Camping Trip

I found our camping trip pics on the same card that I had missplaced. Sometime back in August we went camping with Jeremiah and Jennie, Jeremiah was BEAR HUNTING. Marissa, Makinzy and Marick drove up on a Saturday and joined us for the day. We had a great time. However. . .this is the camping trip that I developed BRONCHITIS and I was off work for 3 days. I inhaled too much campfire smoke and it did me in, Moyd told me "NO MORE CAMPING FOR YOU" ;(

Lost But Now Found/So Sorry

I am getting so forgetful (could it be that I'm getting closer to being 50 this year) I had misplaced one of my digital camera cards and I had been looking in my picture file for Delia's blessing day thinking I had already downloaded the pictures, lo and behold I hadn't!

3rd times the Charm ;o)

I finally got my first deer after shooting at 2 others, prior too putting this one down. It has a 23" spread, not bad for my very first one. Well I'm done for the season!
